Project Description

My Stories, Our Story: Participatory Theatre Workshop

12 and 19 June 2023
The Calder Theatre
51 The Cut, SE1 8LF
London

How can we use theatre tools to acknowledge and embody our personal emotions, our individual stories?

How can our stories be told and honoured on stage and in the group?

How can we listen, recognize and resonate with them, finding non-verbally ways to co-create a new collective storystaging and transforming it in a group and participatory process?

We will work with theatre games, exercises, improvisation and drama activities from methodologies of participatory theatre: Image Theatre, Playback Theatre, Forum Theatre, Embodied Storytelling, elements of Dramatherapy.

The workshop will offer resources to all those interested in engaging communities with participatory theatre tools, and it is open to anyone: no previous theatre experience is needed.

On the two dates of 12 and 19 June we will explore different activities: the participation in both (discounted) is suggested but it’s not required.

Spaces are limited: we recommend to register early.
